European oak properties
European oak is one of the most popular woods. It is strong and hard, yet easy to work and finish. However, for underwater use, such as for polework or yacht building, it needs to be treated and protected. Because European oak is so easy to work with and yet very strong, it is often chosen to be made into flooring. The warm and luxurious appearance of European oak makes this type of wood suitable for a wide range of applications in and around homes. Think, for example, of making furniture (oak furniture wood), doors, frames and stairs.
